Request a Call Guide From a Third Party

Collaborate with hiring managers using a simple link.

A Call Guide is a set of interview questions used during candidate phone screens. Instead of building one from scratch, you can invite a hiring manager or colleague to contribute their questions directly, saving you time and making sure the screen reflects what actually matters for the role.

Once they submit their guide, you get notified, review it, make any edits and then it is ready to use on your next call.

To request a custom call guide from a hiring manager or colleague, simply share a link to invite them to collaborate. Here's how:

  • In your Honeit dashboard, click on ”Manage” and choose “Call Guides.”

  • + Call Guide

  • Choose “Request a Call Guide.”

How to Send the Invitation

You have two options for sharing the invitation link:

Option A: Share the link directly

Copy your invitation link and share it however works best. The link is personal to you, so any guide submitted through it will come directly to your Honeit account.

Option B: Send via Honeit email

Click Send next to your invitation link. A pre-filled email template will open with your invitation link already included. You can customize the message, enter the recipient's email address and send it directly from Honeit. The default message explains what the link is for and includes an example call preview so the hiring manager knows what to expect.

What the Hiring Manager Fills Out

When you send the invitation link, the hiring manager lands on a simple form where they provide:

  • A title — the job the questions are for

  • Interview questions they want asked during the phone screen

  • Skill tags or competencies critical to the role (optional)

  • Their name and email address

After clicking Submit, the guide is sent to you for review.

How You Get Notified

As soon as a hiring manager submits their guide, you will be notified in two ways:

  • An in-app notification in Honeit — you will see a bell icon alert saying "You have a new call guide available for review" along with who submitted it

  • An email notification with a Review Guide button that takes you directly to the submitted guide

How to Review and Edit the Guide

When you open the guide, it comes in as a draft ready for your review. Here is what you can do before saving it:

  • Review the questions

  • Add, edit or remove questions

  • Reorder questions

  • Edit the guide name

  • Add screening notes

  • Save the guide

Note that the call guide is tagged as “Draft” and will remain so until you make edits and Save it to your library. Once saved, it is ready for use.

💡 Pro Tip: If you have a project set up for this role, you can assign this guide as the default guide for that project so it is automatically selected for any calls within it.
