How to make contacts public to your team

Written by Ezgi Bilici

By default, every contact in Honeit is set to Private Mode, which means the contact and its call history are visible only to you. Making a contact public lets your teammates see it in their own contact lists and open the calls that other people on your team have had with that person.

There are two ways to make contacts public. You can flip a single contact to public, or you can auto-share every new contact you create.

Option 1: Make a single contact public

Use this when you want to share one specific contact, like someone you interviewed.

  1. Open the contact record you want to share.

  2. Stay on the Details tab.

  3. At the top of the record, find the Private Mode toggle (marked with a lock icon).

  4. Switch the toggle off.

Once Private Mode is off, that contact is public to your team.

Option 2: Auto-share all new contacts

If you'd rather share contacts automatically instead of one at a time, turn on auto-sharing in your preferences.

  1. Open your Preferences and go to Contact Preferences.

  2. Turn on Auto-share Contacts.

From then on, every new contact you create is shared with your team. Shared contacts are visible and editable to your teammates, including all contact profile data, calls and shared highlights.

Keep in mind this applies to new contacts going forward. Contacts you created before turning it on stay private unless you make them public one by one using Option 1.

Optional: Notify your team when a contact is made public

In the same Contact Preferences section you'll find Notify Team when Contact Public. Turn this on if you want Honeit to alert your team each time a contact is set to public.

Use this one sparingly. Your teammates receive an email every time a contact becomes public, so on a busy team it can quickly add up to a lot of notifications. It's there if you want it, but most teams are fine leaving it off.

A note on admins

Account admins can already see every contact and call, including private ones. You don't need to make a contact public just so an admin can view it. Making a contact public is about sharing it with the rest of your team.
