Uploading an audio file to a contact record

Upload mp3 or mp4 files to contact records.

If you recorded a call with a candidate on your phone, RingCentral, or through another system, you can still get the full Honeit experience. Simply upload the recording as an mp3 or mp4 to the contact's record and Honeit processes it the same way it processes a call made through the platform.

From there, it's just like any other call in Honeit: extract clips, create a presentation, and share it the way you always do.

Step 1: Make sure the candidate has a contact record

A recording can only be uploaded to a contact, so the candidate needs a contact record before you can attach a call to them. If they're already in Honeit, you can skip ahead to Step 2.

If they're not yet in the system:

  1. Go to Contacts.

  2. Click Add New Contact.

  3. Fill in their details and save.

Once the contact exists, open their record to continue.

Step 2: Open the upload option

On the contact's record, click the calendar icon next to the call button and open its dropdown menu.

You'll see three options:

  1. Make a Call

  2. Schedule a Call

  3. Upload a Call Recording

Select Upload a Call Recording.

Step 3: Add the file and set the call date

In the Upload Call Recording window, drop your file into the Recording File area, or click to browse for it on your computer.

Honeit accepts:

  • MP3 audio, up to 500MB

  • MP4 video, up to 100MB

Once selected, you'll see the file name and size, with the option to remove it and choose a different file if needed.

Under When did this call happen?, enter the actual date and time the call took place — not the time you're uploading it. Honeit uses this timestamp as the call date on the contact's record, so it's worth double-checking before you continue.

Click Upload. Honeit shows a processing screen letting you know the recording is being prepared. You can close this window at any point — there's no need to wait around. The call will appear on the contact's Calls tab once processing is complete.

Step 4: Find the finished call

Head to the contact's Calls tab and open the Completed section. Your uploaded call shows up there with its date, time, and duration, just like any call made through Honeit.

What you get once it's ready

Click into the uploaded call and it behaves exactly like a native Honeit call: a full AI-generated summary, a searchable transcript, and shareable clips pulled straight from the audio. From there, you can build a presentation from the call the same way you would with any other — pulling in the moments that matter most and sending them to a hiring manager.
