Screen Sharing on Honeit Calls

Share your screen during calls.

Updated this week

Screen Share lets participants share their screen during a Honeit call. It's handy for walking a candidate through a take-home assignment, reviewing a resume or portfolio together, or demoing something live.

Who can use it

Screen Share is available to everyone on the call.

Note: Screen Share is not available on non-recorded cold outbound calls, since those run as phone calls rather than browser-based video calls.

How to start sharing

  1. Once you're connected to the call, look at the top toolbar next to the Mute button.

  2. Click the three-dot (kebab) menu.

  3. Select Share Screen from the dropdown.

  4. Your browser will prompt you to choose what to share. You can pick:

    • Your entire screen (everything on that display)

    • A specific window

    • A browser tab

  5. Click Share to start.

Tip: On smaller monitors, the call toolbar buttons can look crowded or overlap. If you can't find the kebab menu, zoom out your browser by pressing Ctrl + minus (or Cmd + minus on Mac) until the buttons space out properly.

A banner will appear at the bottom of your screen confirming you're sharing, along with a Hide banner and Stop sharing button.

How to stop sharing

Click Stop sharing in the browser banner at the bottom of your screen, or return to the kebab menu in Honeit and toggle Share Screen off.

Good to know

  • Screen shares are visible to everyone on the call in real time.

  • Screen share is not captured in the call recording or transcript. If you need to preserve what was shown, take a screenshot or share the file directly.

  • For the cleanest experience, share a specific window or tab rather than your entire screen. This protects your notifications and other open apps from being visible.

  • Make sure to close anything sensitive (email, Slack, personal tabs) before sharing your full screen.
